Cancelled Checks
Picutre of actual cancelled check on display in the museum
Although some records indicate that the bank opened in 1900, it must have been 1899 as we have several cancelled checks dated that year and drawn on the BANK OF IRVING of Kelly, Carter & Co. on display in the museum. One dated December 16, 1899 is in payment for the purchase of some mules. Then next one is dated November 25, 1899 and the other dated Jan 17, 1900.
Bank Currency
Soon after they became a National Bank, they became eligible to issue their own currency. A copy of a $10.00 bill issued by the Irving National Bank on May 25, 1907 and signed by Ross Jarrett and Frank R. Fowler is shown above.
